Shane Warne shares heartache after death of three close friends
Shane Warne, the Australian cricketer and former captain of the Indian cricket team, has shared his heartache after three close friends died in a car accident.

After the death of Australian actor, director, and businessman John Cornell on Friday, Shane Warne pondered on the loss of three close friends in recent months.
Cornell, 80, was the cricketer’s “first manager,” and he talked of how “very sorry” he was to learn of his death after a 20-year struggle with Parkinson’s disease, after knowing him for almost three decades.
Shane remarked of his friend’s accomplishments, “The things he accomplished, what he was able to do – he was the brains behind World Series Cricket, obviously the Crocodile Dundees, and The Paul Hogan Show.” That’s only a sampling.
‘He was one of the greatest individuals of all time.’
On Tuesday, the 51-year-old told Studio 10 that it had been a “bloody terrible period lately,” paying homage to “close friend” music producer Michael Gudinski, who died in March at the age of 68, and his cricketing pal Dean Jones, who died of a stroke in Mumbai last September at the age of 59.
Shane said, ‘It’s been a very difficult period.’

Cornell was most known for his role as Strop on The Paul Hogan Show, but he had also worked as a journalist, television producer, and hotelier, as well as co-writing and producing Crocodile Dundee, the highest-grossing Australian film, which he co-wrote and produced in 1986.
He was also involved in the formation of World Series Cricket in 1977, when he assisted in the recruitment of players.
Shane made a point of publicly expressing his sympathies to Cornell’s family and other close pals, saying he was “thinking of everyone.”

Gudinski’s death earlier this year shocked the Australian music industry, with worldwide popstar Ed Sheeran flying down to pay his respects to his friend and mentor at his funeral ceremony.
During an emotional ceremony, he also collaborated with Australian music legend Kylie Minogue on a new song called Visiting Hours, which Ed wrote as a homage to their mutual friend and will be released as a single on his forthcoming album with Kylie.
